HP Envy Printer Series - Best Choice for Most Local Home Computer Users

If you've been thinking about getting a new printer for basic home use - printing letters, copying items, scanning photos - the HP Envy series may be worth your considering.
I've noticed that HP Envy printers seem to be the most widely used model series in use by households here in our own neighborhoods.
I used to use larger models like the OfficeJet, and I've used a Deskjet too. However, I found that for most of my printing needs the Envy performs well. As much printing as I do, it's proven durable and I get good mileage on the ink cartridges.
In the last five years I've owned and used two Envy models. I purchased both of them at the Walmart near Hwy 200 and 484.
Typically I figure on paying $70-80 for a printer like the Envy. However, home computer users don't always need the most current model, and I notice that Walmart carries older Envy model series at some great prices.
Just recently I saw their HP Envy 5542 All-in-One Printer available for $44.99, the HP Envy 4512 All-in-One Printer / Copier / Scanner for $59.00, and the HP Envy 4520 All-in-One - multifunction printer for $55.49.
(I also saw a listing for the larger HP Officejet 4652 All-in-One Printer / Copier / Scanner for $49.00.)
A more recent Envy mode, the HP Envy Photo 6255 All In One Printer was listed recently for $79.99, down from at list price of $129.99.
If you're look for a more current model, the HP ENVY Photo 7855 All in One Photo Printer with Wireless Printing is available for $129.99, down from a list price of $199.99.
All these price quotes came from walmart.com online. Store availability may very.
Keep in mind - When you shop for a printer, make sure the model you buy will handle the kind of connection you want.
If you keep your printer close to your computer, you'll most likely want to connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable. Make sure the printer you buy has a USB port in back. Check the box or ask the store assistant.
If you use your printer to print items from a laptop, make sure you buy a printer with wireless communication built-in.
Most printer models will handle both USB and wireless connections, but it's worth double checking at the store.
When you get the printer home, the first steps are to take it out of the box, remove all the packaging, put in the paper and install the cartridges.
Once this is done, you'll want to get the printer drivers and software installed on your computer or devices. You can install the software from the CD in the box if there is one. Otherwise, you can get the installation setup file from HP's website.
I suggest turning your printer off after installing the paper and ink, and leaving it off while you begin installing the software on your computer. When it's time to turn on and connect your printer to the computer, you will receive a prompt to do so on your computer screen.
